PalletXpress considers environmental and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives of paramount importance for the company’s future growth and sustainability. Our policy towards reducing our own carbon footprint was a key factor when planning the company’s new Superhub in Dublin. PalletXpress will continue to improve the company’s CSR initiatives and further contribute towards a sustainable future with our network partners.
Forklifts
Some of the benefits of changing to a full fleet of Lithium-Ion forklifts include:
- 14 EP lithium-Ion machines over a 20 hour period.
- Process between 150 – 200 trailers of freight on a daily basis
- More affordable operation and running costs
- Easier to maintain and service
- Enhanced braking technologies
- Easier to drive, manipulate and maneuver
Building Sustainability
We reduced our energy consumption through:
- Installation of 40 PV solar panels, providing 12kw of electricity
- lighting sensor control system fitted in the office building
- LED lighting throughout providing 55% reduction in electricity running costs
- Heat recovery units installed in the office areas
- PIR controlled flushing system, allowing us to avoid unnecessary water wastage
- The building has a B energy rating
Paperless network
A key objective for PalletXpress is to become a paperless network where all deliveries are completed using a drivers app on delivery. Some of the benefits are:
- Reduction of unnecessary paper consumption through the network
- Less administration for customers and members due to no sorting of paperwork
- Digital captures means no mis-placing of PODs and provide real-time delivery confirmation
- Huge saving made on the cost of paper, time and administration
